We know this post comes a little late, but we wanted to be sure that we popped on and shared about all the awesome things we were up to here at the Relationship Center of Silicon Valley at the start of 2016.
Our year has been off to a running start! In January we held our monthly women's lunch time and evening meditations, supporting women throughout the South Bay area. We even have a regular member who participates all the way from Mountain View! We are so lucky to have such a vast reach in the area.
Last month we also held our monthly Healthy Relationships for Women talk on the second Thursday of the month. Usually this talk happens at Enchantations in Campbell, but in January due to scheduling conflicts, we held this event at the Center. It was wonderful to again support a lovely group of ladies as they are on their journey of healing their relationships, starting with the most important relationship: the relationship with the self.
One of the ladies during this talk shared the thought that if she does not take care of all 4 principles to healthy relationships in her life, her table (the analogy we use for the 4 principles which must all be present in order to achieve success and fulfillment in relationships) is off balance or even missing a leg and then her hot cup of tea could fall over and literally hurt either someone else or herself. We thought that was one of the most beautiful summaries we have ever heard about the importance of making sure we are taking care of ourselves in our relationships.
Lastly, we had a HUGE win at the Center when our very own Shirani M. Pathak presented From Self-Love to True Love: How to Develop Deeply Fulfilling Relationships at East West Bookshop in Mountain View! Since last summer when Shirani realized that she is here to do her work as a psychotherapist from a complete psycho-spiritual, mind-body-spirit perspective, she has aspired to present at East West. Finally, 7 months later on January 21, 2016 it came to fruition.
During this talk, Shirani shared about the agreements we make before we entered into this lifetime (our soul contracts and agreements) and how every relationship we have is an opportunity to heal our wounds. She shared how we are all wounded and this is a part of our journey here in this life for our soul to learn its lessons as it is on its path of evolution. Finally, Shirani shared the four principles that can help us move from our place of wounding into our place of power in order to experience healing, joy, fulfillment, and success in our relationships. We had an incredible turnout of over 40 community members, both women and men (our first co-ed audience!) and even the bookstore was impressed with the turnout. It was POWERFUL!
We just held our women's half day retreat as a follow up to dive in deeper, but, more about that in our February review next month. ;)
As for what's coming, we are planning for a women's Chakra workshop in March so keep your eyes open by checking our our Events page or even better, signing up for our newsletter so that you are first to know when news and events are announced. We are also looking to expand our services offered, so if you are or you know a therapist or pre-licensed therapist who would be a great fit for our Center and the work that we do here, please have them contact us. :)
We look forward to continuing to support our community on this healing journey!
